Annie Robinson was born in 1961 and is the daughter of the internationally famed Irish artist Markey Robinson (1918-1999). She paints in a similar style to her father and her work is much sought after. She describes her influences "Cottages rerpresent my childhood; I paint my heaven, hoping on giving things back. Colours are everything, good colour make good composition and the contrast among them" She never lived in a house for any extended period of time and when a child she lived in a garage for several years, so the cottage represents to her her heartfelt wish for a home. Robinson likes to work on small canvases as it makes her work more concentrated and intense and full of emotion.
